Philadelphia natives have plenty of options for summer weekend getaways just a short drive away.
When Visit Fairfax, the official tourism organization for Fairfax County, Virginia, asked us to position Northern Virginia as the go-to destination for Philadelphians, we dug deep—first into the area itself, then into the mindset of Philly travelers. At first glance, Fairfax County and Philadelphia may not seem alike.
But take a closer look, and the similarities start to shine: rich history, incredible dining, world-class shopping, and exciting attractions. Factor in other weekend getaway essentials—affordability, vibrant nightlife, and accessibility—and we uncovered a compelling insight that shaped our campaign: Fairfax County is for Philly Lovers.
With this foundation, I led the creative and art direction, collaborating with our copywriter and studio team to craft a campaign that showcased what makes Fairfax County both unique and an irresistible destination. In addition to developing our video assets, I designed all out-of-home, print, and social media creatives, ensuring a cohesive and engaging campaign from start to finish.

$197 average spend per visitor from Philadelphia, and 55.9% of visitors stayed overnight.
